The competitiveness and profitability of the meat processing companies depend - among other elements - on the access to and availability of qualified staff. The requirements for changeover of production, optimising utilisation of new technology, food safety, HACCP, high efficiency and high productivity as well as understanding the dynamics in the markets and the role of retailers are the prevailing agenda for the meat processing companies of today, which increase the pressure for upgrading of qualifications and knowledge of staff at all levels, and especially for managers and other key persons in the companies.
